Petal Pushers, Vogue in motion
I watched Petal Pushers, Vogue in motion, which showed a quick video of what happens behind the scenes at a Vogue photoshoot. The concept for the March issue of Vogue is 'Petal Pushers,' and in the video it talks about picture boards that had the ideas from the main designers, it shows how each designer has taken the concept and make it original and different from others designers. The concept of Petal Pushers, could have come out as a 'hippie' stye concept, but it shows how each designer has made the look modern and fit with the march issue.
Although it was a short video, it shows how many people need to be on board while the photoshoot is being held, over 30 people are present for the shoot and that involves makeup artists, fashion designers and tailors. It showed how long it takes to get the perfect image in terms of lighting and the model pose. I was interested to see the designs being shown to the editor, she had the final say of what goes in the magazine and what doesn't, some outfits make it in, some don't this could be due to the style of clothes, the model or the taste of the editor.
I was interested to see how much work goes into making a high ed fashion magazine, how many people are involved and the process of which each image is made. Everything must be perfect and exactly how the designers and editors want it, the models must be perfect for the clothes and lighting, if this giant as the designer want sit, the shot can fail and the process will have to start again.
